Papers and authorizations for Divers and Dive Centers

Diving on the Canary Islands like diving in whole Spain is regulated by law. Dive Center and diver need to fullfil several requirements. Please observe the necessary requirements and don´t forget the following papers:

These papers you need to have as a diver:

diving license

medical certificate

diving insurance /accident / civil responsability

If you are going to dive with a dive center which is authorized by the canarian governmant (what is necessary for every dive center on the Canary Islands - but still a couple of dive centers are not having it) you don´t need any more allowation of the government.

Before you are choosing a dive center you should control if it is having the authorization of the "Gobierno de Canarias" (canary government).

The medical certificate is having a validity of 2 years in Spain. If you don´t have it: no problem, here in Los Cancajos we are having a medic center, the price for the check is round about 30,-- Euros

If you don´t have a dive insurance: than you can book it here. The prices are: 3,-- Euros per day; 20,-- Euros per month; 39,-- Euros per year. During a beginners course or a try dive the insurance is inclusive.
